We warmly welcome new members and it’s a great way to meet like minded female shots of all abilities, including those who have never shot before. We organise several events a year, ranging from Bar-B-Q's, weekends away and team shooting events. Most but not all of our members shoot, they are however all exclusively female!
Membership is £20 / year, due on 1st August and is available to anyone to join at anytime, as long as you are female and over 18 years of age. If you wish to join in the middle of the year, fees are £5 per quarter.

All members need to have insurance, a gun certificate and a gun before they can shoot with us, but if you have some or none of these things don't panic you can still join, you just won't be able to shoot until these things are in place, but we will point you in the right direction.  We will help you to apply for a gun license and advise you on how and where to get insurance.  A shotgun certificate costs approximately £80 (£50 for renewal) and insurance starts from approximately £25. Guns can be hired from Purbeck Shooting School when you have a gun license.
We ask all members to have a quick chat with our Safety Officer before they shoot and for the first 3 events we will buddy you up with a committee member before going solo, this is so that we can show you the ropes, make you feel welcome and answer any questions you may have.

The Dorset Game Birds (DGB) is a non profit making organisation formed in 2006 by four lady shots, who while relaxing in the pub after a weekend shooting felt that it was a sport sadly lacking in an abundance of females. After some discussion as to why this might be, they set about rectifying the situation and the Dorset Game Birds was born.  The DGB is an organisation dedicated to making shooting accessible for women. The aims of the group are to: Offer a safe, supportive and friendly entrance into the world of shooting for women. Provide affordable shooting events and tuition for women in Dorset. Promote shooting for women
